Variety: 100% Nebbiolo

Hectares: 4,31 ha

“We debuted in Ceretto together. It was 2000, I have just started working with my family and that same year we released the first vintage of Bernadot. It was an intuition, or probably a risk to invest in this vineyard, located in an extraordinary position that borders the municipality of Treiso, over 400 meters which could represent a risk for a grape like Nebbiolo. Time has proved we were right and from the very first years this Barbaresco showed us all its enveloping softness.”
Roberta Ceretto

In the upper part of Treiso, essentially continuing the strip of Nervo vineyards, there is Bernadot. For two decades we have been making wine from the beautiful grapes of this hill, obtaining knowing wines instilled with an exciting drinkability.
The vines lean against land that recalls that of Serralunga, but the wines that are obtained here have a different exposure strategy. Though tenacious, they are not monolithic and demonstrate their fullness without linking their spirit to that idea of austere tannins that seems to be the inseparable companion of that slope’s Barolos.
Bernadot, in fact, is a Barbaresco that, while maintaining a deeply classic soul, satisfies thanks to the sweetness of its nose, to the succulence of its mouthfeel, and it does so without giving way to any redundancy.
In the glass, it is an explosion of red berries, grenadine, and iris: the mouth is tempting, without exhibiting any excess of concentration. Bernadot is a hymn to the beauty of the Nebbiolo variety.
